Financial Literacy

Make your money work for you . Life is not about money but how you manage money has a huge impact on your quality of life, your family’s life and the life of your community. The three classes are: Making Ends Meet—Goal setting, tracking spending; ABC’s of Banking explores the type of financial institutions’ services; and Take Charge of Credit – building credit history and score.

Financial Literacy works with individuals to help them understand basic finance and their own financial situation. Free financial counseling is available for individuals and groups to help people build financial security and make informed decisions for their current and future financial situations. Topics addressed include: budget planning, saving, debt reduction, asset building, and building good credit.

Operation: New View is sponsoring scholarships to Financial Literacy classes through the Iowa State Extension! Classes are held at the Prescott Resource Center (11151 White St., Dubuque, IA) from 6:00pm – 7:30pm on Thursday May 4th, 11th, and 18th.
